JASON WAIN.
AUTHOR. SPEAKER. COACH.
You've been building an image.
What if you built a shadow instead?
There's a difference.
And once you see it, you can't unsee it.
SOUND FAMILIAR?
You're driven. You show up. You deliver.
And yet at 10pm when everything's quiet, something keeps nagging.
Maybe you've hit goals that were supposed to feel like enough..but they didn't. Maybe the version of you that exists at work, online, in meetings doesn't quite match who you are when nobody's watching. Maybe you're helping people while a quiet scorecard runs in the background tracking who owes you what.
You've tried to fix it. A book here. A framework there. Nothing quite landed.
Here's why: they taught you to manage your image. Nobody taught you to tend your shadow.
Your image is what you show. Your shadow is what you actually are...the part your kids quietly absorb, that your team feels before you open your mouth, that people describe honestly in the car on the drive home from your funeral.
That part got left to chance.
That's the gap. And it's costing you more than you think.
WHAT I BELIEVE.
The most important thing you'll ever build isn't your career.
It's your character.
Not the kind that looks good on LinkedIn. The kind that holds up when life gets hard. The kind your kids quietly absorb. The kind your workmates appreciate. The kind that people talk about in the car on the drive home from your funeral, when nobody's performing anymore.
That's your shadow.
And it's being built right now, whether you're paying attention to it or not.
MY STORY.
For years, I was good at looking the part.
Dream job. The reputation was solid. From the outside, things looked right.
But inside the gap (between who I appeared to be and who I actually was), something wasn't sitting right. I was performing a version of myself that was impressive enough, while quietly neglecting the things that actually mattered.
I know what it's like to achieve things that were supposed to feel like enough and feel nothing.
I also know what it feels like to close the gap. Not all at once. Not perfectly. But intentionally - one honest choice at a time.
That's what Cast Your Shadow is built on. Not a theory. Lived.
THIS ISN'T ABOUT PERFECTION.
Cast Your Shadow isn't for people who have it together.
It's for people who are honest enough to admit they don't...and ready to do something about it.
I'm not here because I've arrived. I'm here because I'm doing the same work you are. Going through the same framework I'm telling you about. Getting it wrong some weeks. Getting it more right as time goes on.
Transformation isn't about perfection.
It's about direction.
WHAT I DO.
I'm based in Adelaide, South Australia. My name is Jason Wain. I've been married to my wife, Jamie, since 2006 and have two daughters (Kai and Lyla). I'm a passionate supporter of the NRL team Brisbane Broncos. As a Christian, my faith is the foundation to all I do, say and strive for.
For 20 years I've been teaching students as a classroom teacher and athletic director. Because I'm so passionate about people's positive mental health, wellbeing and being a role model, that I completed my Masters of Education in Positive Mental Health and Wellbeing in 2020.
I help people shape their identity, lead with influence, and live (not leave) their legacy.
I help people build character over image...through my writing, speaking, and videos.
I bring this work to leaders, teams, influencers and students who are ready to build something real...not just a culture that looks good on paper.
